Anne McKeney Clingensmith Gibbs was born ca. 1830

        Pension records say that Sheldon contracted "disease of eyes, lung troubles, and general debility" while on march from mouth of Coal River to Hurricane Bridge, WV, in Spring of 1863.  Sent to hospitals at Pt. Pleasant WV, Gallipolis OH, and Claryville MD (where he was discharged).  He remained 1/2 disabled for life, and received $12/mo. pension to May 4, 1896.
