Harrison Rice was born November 16, 1844, in Mason Co, West Virginia, the son of Jesse Rice & Sarah Gardiner.  He married Mary Jane Hardwich, the daughter of  Jeremiah Hardwick & Elizabeth Byba, October 18, 1866.  Mary Jane died in 1893 and Harrison died July 22, 1938.  Both are buried in Suncrest Cemetery, Lewis District, Mason County, West Virginia.  Harrison was also the brother of Richard Rice, Co. G, 13th WVI.
