Hiram was born in 1842, the son of Ezekial Sayre & Hannah Gilman, and was a farmer.  He married Ann Francis Hayes.  He was the brother of Mark Gilman Sayre, Co. C, 13th WVI.  He died in 1910, and is buried in Sayre Cemetery, Union District, Mason County, West Virginia.
