William Perry Smith was born in 1843, the son of Henry Smith (who served with 9th WVI). He married Martha Greenlee, born 1851, daughter of Lewis & Mary Thornton Greenlee. William Perry Smith ran a general & drug store in Leon, & operated the Leon Ferry after the war.
